Matthieu started his career as a founder and CEO of two tech companies: an SMB B2B SaaS and a service marketplace. He thus gained a valuable experience in fundraising from private and public investors, hiring, and corporate development. He then spent several years in strategy consulting at Roland Berger and BNP Paribas, leading over 30 tech deals in corporate development and fundraising, before joining Voodoo to drive strategic partnerships across the US and APAC regions.
In 2023, he joined the Data Ventures team at Serena Capital to lead early-stage investments in infrastructure software, developer tools, low-levels data/AI stacks. He authored the Commercial Open Source Report, a landmark data-driven analysis of over 800 venture-backed OSS startups compared to 60,000 closed-source peers. His conviction: Open Source is not just a philosophy, but a scalable and superior financial strategy for founders and investors alike.
