Koji Sakamoto

Koji Sakamoto is a director at TBM Co., Ltd., a company specializing in the development of innovative materials. Born in Saudi Arabia in 1967, Sakamoto graduated from Waseda University in 1990. After graduation, he gained extensive experience in the IT industry through positions at Itochu Corporation, Excite, and Yahoo! JAPAN. His business career is characterized by his constant pursuit of innovative ideas to meet new markets and needs. TBM's flagship product is a new material called "LIMEX," primarily made from limestone. LIMEX significantly reduces environmental impact by serving as an alternative to paper and plastic. The material is highly recyclable and requires significantly less water during the manufacturing process, making it highly notable from an environmental protection perspective. Since 2024, Sakamoto has been leading the global dissemination of PlaX, a plant-based synthetic fiber, as the CEO of Bioworks, a group company of TBM.
