About Me

As graduate of the École Polytechnique and the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, Matthieu Chabanel began his career in the field of water resource management at the Agence de l’Eau Seine Normandie. In 2006, he joined the Ministry of Transport as deputy director of inland and coastal ports, before becoming director of ports and inland waterway transport in 2008. In August 2010, Matthieu Chabanel was appointed technical adviser on transport, infrastructure and urban planning issues to the office of the French Prime Minister. In April 2012, he joined Réseau Ferré de France as assistant CEO, responsible for commercial relations, regulation and network planning. In 2014, in the context of the creation of SNCF Réseau, Matthieu Chabanel became assistant CEO for Maintenance and Works. In 2018, he was appointed deputy CEO and took charge of the industrial and technical performance of the company. Finally, from 2020 to June 2022, he was deputy CEO for Projects, Maintenance and Operations, with responsibility over all the operational teams.
