Manuel Moussallam is director of research at Deezer. With a background in music information retrieval and signal processing, he has been working with a team of researchers and engineers on topics ranging from music catalog organisation, musical source separation, recommender systems, representation of music in language, and music consumption modeling.
In the past decade, Deezer Research has led to more than 70 scientific contributions in top-level conferences and journals with high impact projects such as the open-source Spleeter software, and ambitious collaborative research projects. Recently the team has deployed a music gen AI detection system at scale on the Deezer catalog.
