About Me

Karim Sidi-Ali-Chérif is currently Deputy Director at CEA-Liten, where he oversees research funding programmes and supports the development of collaborative R&D initiatives in the fields of clean energy and advanced materials. He holds a Ph.D. in electrochemistry (2008) and a Master’s degree in innovation management (2018). His career spans both industry and research, with experience at large corporations and start-ups, first as an R&D engineer and later as an industrialisation engineer working on X-ray detector technologies. He later transitioned into innovation consulting and European project management, supporting companies in their innovation strategies and coordinating projects in renewable energy, particularly in battery technologies and smart grids. Karim joined CEA-Liten in 2019 as EU project manager for energy storage solutions in grid applications. Since November 2020, he has served as Deputy Director, focusing on shaping and securing strategic research funding. He also plays an active role in the European innovation ecosystem as First Vice President of IAM-I (Innovative Advanced Materials Initiative), contributing to the coordination of efforts around advanced materials in the Horizon Europe programme.
