About Me

Hello, my name is Dounia Wone. I’ve been Chief Impact Officer at Vestiaire Collective since March 2020 and sit on the company’s executive committee. With a background in sustainable development, I’ve had the opportunity to work with key French institutions such as the Ministry of Housing, the Ministry of Ecological Transition, the National Assembly, and Paris City Hall. As Chief of Staff to the Deputy Mayor for the Social and Solidarity Economy of Paris, I also helped launch the Paris Good Fashion movement to drive greater environmental responsibility across the industry. I’m passionate about bridging the gap between public and private sectors, and I bring this ecological and societal vision to everything I do at Vestiaire Collective — helping shape the future of our global community of millions of fashion activists.

Design Smarter. Trace Clearly. Waste Less: Building a Better Retail Model

As the demand for sustainable consumption reshapes global retail, with the circular economy projected to reach $4.5 trillion by 2030, circularity is no longer a niche trend, it is a strategic imperative. From second-hand platforms to luxury brands and global e-commerce giants, every player in the retail ecosystem is being challenged to rethink their role across the product lifecycle. The session will explore how circular principles are transforming business models through the lens of three key players in luxury retail, e-commerce and second-hand platform, as they navigate desirability, traceability and distribution, repairability and customer experience. What is the role of cross-sector collaboration in scaling circular commerce effectively? Can we harmonize sustainability metrics across different business models? What tools and innovations are enabling traceability and second-life strategies at scale? And how do we balance environmental commitments with customer experience and profitability?
