About Me

Alban Schmutz is the CEO of Cloud Data Engine (CDE), a SaaS company specializing in cloud service compliance and governance, as well as data spaces, leveraging Gaia-X standards. A visionary entrepreneur, he has co-founded several major European initiatives, including Gaia-X, CISPE, the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact, and the first GDPR Code of Conduct approved by the European Data Protection Board. As former Senior VP of Business Development & Public Affairs at OVHcloud, he played a key role in shaping cloud policy in France, particularly within EuroCloud France, where he served as Vice President. Today, he once again chairs the Public Affairs Commission of EuroCloud France and sits on the boards of CISPE, Gaia-X, Yncrea, and Alacrité, actively contributing to Europe's digital sovereignty, compliance, and cybersecurity challenges.
