About Me

Axel Dauchez is the founder of Make.org and Make.org Foundation, the world's leading platform for engagement and collective intelligence to mobilise citizens and civil society in the positive transformation of society. A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique, he headed up the animated audiovisual production group Moonscoop and the music streaming platform Deezer, before becoming Chairman of Publicis France in 2014, where he oversaw, among other things, the first edition of the Viva Technology trade fair. After twenty-five years of entrepreneurial adventures, and faced with the reality of a weakening democracy, in 2016 he decided to create Make.org, with the ambition of inventing new ways to re-engage civil society in the service of the common good.

AI & Society: A Challenge Requiring our Collective Action

Artificial intelligence is transforming every sector but society’s ability to adapt remains a key challenge. That’s why Make.org is launching at VivaTech on the Discovery Stage a national initiative to help businesses, institutions and citizens navigate this shift responsibly and proactively. By fostering dialogue and collective action, the goal is to ensure that everyone can benefit from AI’s potential while maintaining control over its impact. Come and participate to the nation-wide consultation on AI!

The Algorithmic Republic: Can Democracy Survive Artificial Intelligence?

As AI swiftly reshapes our world, democracies find themselves on shifting ground. This session confronts AI not just as a powerful tool, but as a lever of immense influence, often operating beyond democratic oversight. In a world increasingly defined by algorithms, how do we protect the very fabric of trust in information and maintain control over our digital lives? What fundamental questions must we ask about AI's role in governance and its ultimate impact on the future of democratic institutions?
