About Me

Olivier Mauco is a video game designer and Doctor of Political Science specializing in the study of the discourses, ideologies and socio-economic impacts of video games. Founder of the Game in Society agency, he explores educational, democratic and mental health issues through experimental video games. He is also a recognized media voice on the political, ideological and societal issues surrounding video games. He founded and presides over the European Video Game Observatory, dedicated to producing studies and analyses on video games, addressing their cultural, economic and geopolitical issues. It is aimed at a wide range of players: industry, public authorities, NGOs and outside companies with an interest in gaming. Its aim is to highlight the specific features of the European video game industry, and to support the changes taking place in this global industry by offering creative and strategic perspectives.
