About Me
Walid A. Al-Naeem was appointed as the Vice President and Chief Engineer, Engineering effective March 1st, 2024.
He joined the company in September 1990, before earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tulsa, USA and a Master’s degree from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals.
Throughout his career Al-Naeem has held several positions, including Director of the Environmental Protection Department, Director of the Energy Transition Engineering Department, Coordinator of Research & Technology, Superintendent of Riyadh Refinery Engineering, along with other leadership assignments in Project Management and SASREF.
In 2020, he assumed the position of Director of Process & Control Systems Department (P&CSD), where his leadership proved integral to bringing P&CSD’s 2030 vision to fruition.
That vision was successful in gaining recognition as a Center of Excellence in providing Process Engineering, Automation, Energy Efficiency, and Digitalization Services.
Al-Naeem has completed various leadership programs including an executive program at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
He is currently leading several corporate boards and committees, including the Board of Engineers, the Specialist Development Program and the Innovation and Knowledge Management Boards. He was also recently appointed as a board member in Saudi
Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC), which oversees the consumption of energy in order to increase efficiency in the Kingdom.
Al-Naeem is also chairman of the Board for Plant.Digital JV, a 2023 joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Honeywell that will guide industrial companies through their digital transformation journey by providing them with the necessary practices needed to run plant operations in a more efficient, profitable, and sustainable manner.
