Alex is committed to leveraging technological innovations to improve global health equity and accessibility for underserved communities. As the head of Tencent Healthcare, he leads AI-driven digital transformation initiatives, integrating online and offline medical services, AI-powered self-service tools, and strategic collaborations to enhance patient care. He also spearheads Tencent’s AI for Life Sciences Lab, advancing AI models for drug discovery and genomic analysis to bridge research and clinical applications.
Beyond his corporate roles, Alex contributes to global health policy as a member of the WHO’s Digital Health Technical Advisory Group and teaches health innovation at the University of Hong Kong. Previously, he led health innovation efforts at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and advised Fortune 500 companies and governments at McKinsey & Company. A trained medical doctor, he holds degrees from the University of Auckland, University of Otago, and an MPH from Harvard.
