About Me
Doris Birkhofer has been appointed President of Siemens France since October 1, 2021, in addition to her responsibilities as CEO of Siemens Smart Infrastructure France. Her scope also covers Belgium, Luxembourg and the Maghreb.
After graduating from ESB Business School in Reutlingen (Germany) and the NEOMA Business School in Reims (France), Doris Birkhofer joined Siemens’ internal management consulting entity in Germany and later in the United States before leading portfolio and growth projects in Siemens’ corporate strategy group.
Subsequently, she took over the business segment "Identity and Access Management" in Munich.
In 2009, after working as Head of Strategy for the packaging division of Saint-Gobain in Paris (today Verallia), Doris Birkhofer was appointed CEO of the machine construction subsidiary for the production of glass containers.
In 2014, she joined the American company Alcoa (aluminum production) to manage acquisition and growth projects in Europe. In 2016, Doris became President of Arconic France (a spin-off of Alcoa).
In 2018, Doris returned to Siemens to lead as CEO the Western European region of the Building Technologies division.
She also holds various other positions: member of the Supervisory Board of Oddo BHF (2017), member of the Board of GIMELEC (2021), Vice-President of the Franco-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (2023), member of DEKRA's Strategic Council and member of the executive committees of NEOMA Business School and the Femmes@Numériques association (2024), member of the Strategic Council of Paris Université Cité (2025).
Furthermore, she is involved in various associations such as “Elles Bougent”, “Femmes Ingénieurs”, and “Collectif IndustriElles” to attract girls and women to scientific and industrial careers.
Doris Birkhofer is a knight of the Legion of Honour.
