About Me

Valentin Schmite is an expert in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and culture. His significant contributions to these two areas have helped build a bridge between the sometimes divergent worlds of technology and art. His desire to make culture more accessible led him to co-found Ask Mona in 2016. This startup leverages artificial intelligence to serve cultural institutions, offering conversational tools and data analysis solutions to bring these institutions closer to their audiences. Alongside his entrepreneurial role, Valentin Schmite is committed to education. Since 2014, he has been teaching at Sciences Po Paris, where in 2018 he created a course exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on culture. He also teaches at CELSA and Arts et Métiers. As an author, Valentin Schmite has co-written several books on art and artificial intelligence. His work invites readers to rethink the notion of creativity in the AI era and to explore the role of humans in a world increasingly dominated by machines. His latest book, “Propos sur ce robot qui parle: Entretien avec ChatGPT” (“Talks about this Talking Robot: Interview with ChatGPT”), is the first French interview book with an artificial intelligence, highlighting the various issues surrounding this emerging technology.
