Mic Drop Moments
More than 450 leading speakers took the stage at VivaTech 2025, sharing bold ideas and real-world impact. In his keynote speech, Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, highlighted Europe’s shift from consumer to producer in the AI economy and announced major partnerships with telecom leaders like Orange, Telefónica, and Swisscom to build out AI infrastructure across Europe. “Europe has now awakened to the importance of building AI infrastructure,” he said.
This shift from consumer to producer was echoed by Arthur Mensch, CEO of Mistral AI, who recently partnered with NVIDIA to develop a dedicated AI cloud in Europe. “We’ve moved from training models to building products — and now, to managing infrastructure. It’s a critical next step for Europe,” he explained.
Speaking with Huang and Mensch, French President, Emmanuel Macron, doubled down on the cultural and strategic importance of AI investment in Europe. “It’s about our intelligence, our brain, our culture, and our history — and we want to preserve this diversity," he said.
VivaTech 2025 also saw more specific sessions about the precise role of AI across industries. Speaking about AI's role in the drug discovery and development process, Mathilda Strom, Founding COO of Bioptimus said “AI enables us to do things much faster, at much wider scale, uncovering insights that weren’t possible before.”
Meanwhile, Vanessa Wyche, Acting Associate Administrator at NASA, emphasized the critical role of space technology in addressing global challenges, noting that “space is crucial for science. Climate change, for example, can only be properly monitored from space. Out of the 50 parameters used to characterize climate change, 25 come from satellites.”
