The fifth edition of Viva Technology will not take place June 11-13, 2020 as originally planned

Paris, March 19, 2020 - Given the evolution and the gravity of the situation regarding COVID-19, the fifth edition of Viva Technology, Europe’s biggest startup and tech event, will not take place June 11-13. Alternative solutions are being studied, in concertation with the main partners of the event, and will be announced soon.

The containment measures decreed by the national authorities in France now make it impossible to prepare and organize the event on the dates originally planned. Especially since, as announced, the containment is likely to be extended as has been the case in China and Italy. VivaTech's priority is to guarantee the health and safety of visitors, partners and staff and to show solidarity and responsibility in the face of this health crisis.

According to Julie Ranty, VivaTech’s Managing Director, “The co-Presidents, Maurice Lévy and Pierre Louette, and I are unable to maintain our June event in this context, given that everyone's health and safety is our first priority. We are studying alternatives. This complex period pushes us to be even more flexible and creative. For the time being our thoughts are with all those affected by the disease and with all the businesses who are going through this crisis. We thank all of our partners who have renewed their support and commitment to building the next edition with us. ”
