The best hackers in Europe will have 24h hours to build something awesome and present it in front of VivaTech audience and TechCrunch cameras. Developers, UX/UI Designers, data scientists, startuppers will team and present their skills to be the best hack.

24 hours of hack and 64 projects

Friday, May 25th, hundreds of hackers gathered at Porte de Versailles for the TechCrunch hackathon @ VivaTech. After a long working night and a lot of redbull, 64 amazing projects were presented in front of an impressive jury line up.

Here are the winning projects :

TechCrunch overall winner: CommerceDNA, a technology that autofills the product details when the seller uploads an image of the product he wants to sell.
Gefco / Talan challenge: Kaara, that automates the car maintenance from the issue detection to car repair.
Groupe Renault challenge: AutoPark, a smart integrated system in autonomous vehicles which helps finding a parking spot.
IBM challenge: Joiyce, a the new platform that gives Sign Language users their own personal voice, based on their personal traits.
leboncoin challenge: Pastis51, an AI search tool that helps finding the right product on leboncoin with a picture and a vocal description.
Microsoft challenge: LearnEnjoy is a solution that helps detect as fast as possible children’s typology of problems behave.

The Largest Corporate Hackathon in Europe

This year, TechCrunch and VivaTech partner to organize the largest Corporate Hackathon in Europe from May 25th to May 26th, gathering 1,000 hackers for 24 hours. Six corporates and tech partners will challenge hackers with specific issues and award the best projects with prize money, incubation, hardware, and lots of surprises ! TechCrunch will also award the most awesome project with a 5,000€ reward and tickets to TechCrunch Disrupt 2018.

Gefco &Talan Challenge

Car repairs are time-consuming. Eg. Car Rental companies need to find a garage, organize transport, collect information, etc. Your mission is to imagine a system that will enable cars (or drivers) to request maintenance services directly from the car to the suppliers. « What about a ‘dash button’ for the driver to report issues through IoT ? Or a predictive AI maintenance system? Or a gamification system allowing the final customer to manage car repair evaluations. Unless you can imagine a great other innovation. Let’s shape innovative services for vehicles mobility !

Groupe Renault is developing safe and smooth driving technology to offer trustful Autonomous Driving on mainstream vehicles. This technology aims at making road safer, more enjoyable and maximize time for drivers while delegating.
Your challenge is to help us shape the future of Autonomous Vehicle by inventing innovative onboard and offboard services that will contribute to bring new experiences to customers and cars.

Your challenge? Let your imagination run wild as you build an app that couples AI with videos and photos to face down real problems; perhaps monitor a baby’s sleep for harmful situations. The prize is €5,000, but beyond that, this hackathon will let you deliver a lasting and significant impact.

Almost everyone in France knows leboncoin. 98 million exchanges per year, leboncoin is the first classifieds site in France, in real estate, jobs, vehicles and other categories, with 1 million new ads every day. LeBonCoin is challenging our hackers to develop a marketplace of the future that emphasizes and improves on the relationship between the buyer and the seller. Feel free to use innovative technologies like augmented reality, IoT, and artificial intelligence – the hacker with the most creative product will get €5,000.

Microsoft Challenge

Microsoft is inviting hackers to join one of 9 projects AI for good: 2 health projects and 7 existing social good projects in collaboration with the Station F’s Tech for Good accelerator: The 7 projects are around gender equality, natural disasters, health, education, refugees, and civil rights. They are looking for talented developers and AI engineers to collaborate with them to have a social impact on their contribution. Microsoft will select one of these projects, the winners will receive technical support from the Software Engineering teams of Microsoft to continue working on the project and each member of that team will receive a Microsoft Surface.
